Matchmaker Winnipeg: Love Collective Introductions

If you’re looking for a matchmaker, Winnipeg has more choice than it used to. Love Collective Introductions is one of them. We’re an in-person, screened matchmaking service for Manitoba and Saskatchewan, run by founder Bobbi Tanguay. Every applicant is background-checked before approval. No exceptions.

Before you compare

Two questions everyone asks first.

How much do people pay for a matchmaker?

Matchmaker prices vary widely. A single consultation can cost a few hundred dollars. A guided membership with ongoing introductions can run several thousand. So don’t compare price alone. Compare what’s included, how long the term runs, and whether candidates are screened before you ever meet them.

Is it worth it to hire a matchmaker?

It’s worth it when the value outweighs the cost. That value is screening, guided introductions, coaching and time saved. The alternative is dating apps, open directories, or doing it all yourself. Before you decide, check three things. What’s screened. What’s promised in writing. And what happens if a match doesn’t work out.

Memberships

What Love Collective’s matchmaking membership includes

Love Collective runs an in-person, screened matchmaking service across Manitoba and Saskatchewan. This isn’t an app. It isn’t an open directory either. Every match comes through a guided introduction process. You interview with Love Collective. You complete an assessment. Then a matchmaker pairs you, not an algorithm and not a public profile search.

Love Collective’s two membership tiers: Intro and Executive

Love Collective offers two membership tiers, and both prices are published.

Intro

Intro Membership

$1,999 six-month minimum term

Apply
Executive

Executive Membership

$7,999 per year, twelve-month term

Includes the four a la carte services plus Coaching 101.

Neither tier promises a set number of introductions. Weigh the term length and what’s bundled in against your own budget and timeline. Then choose. Every price is on the pricing page.

Choosing well

Decision criteria for choosing a matchmaker

Before you compare providers, decide what matters most to you:

How candidates are screened, and who runs it.
Who conducts your interview and assessment: an individual matchmaker or a call centre.
How long the membership term runs, and what happens if you receive no match.
What’s included and what’s billed separately (coaching, a la carte services).
What the provider commits to in writing, and what it doesn’t.
Screening

Screened before approval: the Triton Canada background check

We screen every matchmaking applicant before approval. Not after payment. Before. The check is run by Triton Canada, an independent screening provider based in Toronto. Triton Canada is a PBSA member, holds SOC 2 certification and carries BBB accreditation. It runs a CPIC name and date-of-birth search on each applicant.

Be clear on what that means.

It’s a name and date-of-birth CPIC search. It is not a fingerprint-based certified criminal record check. The RCMP sets out the difference in its criminal record information policy.

Ask any matchmaker exactly what their screening covers before you sign up. Ours is set out in full, limits included, in what our background checks cover.

Love Collective holds BBB accreditation and a 5.0 rating from 15 Google reviews. See the reviews.

Who you work with

Working directly with Bobbi Tanguay

Bobbi Tanguay founded Love Collective, incorporated in January 2026. She runs the interviews and compatibility assessments for matchmaking applicants herself. It’s her business. Not a call centre. Not a franchise.

Meet her before you commit to a membership.

And at any matchmaking service you consider, ask who will manage your matches personally.

Our commitments

What we commit to, and what we don’t

We don’t promise an outcome.

Compatibility, availability and mutual interest decide each introduction. Nobody can promise a result on someone else’s behalf.

Here’s what is fixed.

A six-month term for Intro Membership. Twelve months for Executive Membership. And a $97 application fee, credited in full against any membership if you’re approved. The full sequence is on how it works.

Checklist

Questions to ask before signing up

  • Do you offer a consultation before I commit to a membership?
  • What areas do you serve, and can you match me outside that area?
  • Exactly what does your background screening check, and who runs it?
  • Who will interview me and manage my matches personally?
  • What happens to my fee or membership if I receive no match?
  • Is there a minimum term, and what happens if I want to cancel?

Each one is explained in questions to ask a matchmaker.
