Six steps, from application to membership.
Every applicant goes through the same steps, and both people in any introduction are screened the same way.
Step 1: Apply
Every match starts with an application. When you apply, you’ll tick a required box. It reads:
“I understand the $97 screening fee covers my background check and is not refunded if my application is declined.”
That way you know exactly what the fee covers before you pay it.
Step 2: Pay the $97 Screening Fee
You pay the $97 fee by Interac e-Transfer (auto-deposit). On its own, it isn’t refundable. But if you’re approved, the full $97 is credited toward your membership. The fee pays for the Triton Canada background check and the time our team spends on your interview and assessment. That work happens whether or not your application goes ahead.
Step 3: Background Screening
Nothing gets approved until your application goes to Triton Canada. Triton is an independent screening company in Toronto. It’s a PBSA member, SOC 2 certified and BBB accredited. Triton runs a CPIC (Canadian Police Information Centre) search using your name and date of birth. It collects your consent and runs the check directly. Love Collective never sees or stores the criminal record result itself.
Timing matters here. Screening happens now, before approval. Not after you’ve signed on as a member. Every applicant goes through the same check, on both sides of every introduction we make.
Step 4: Interview and Compatibility Assessment
Next comes an in-depth, in-person interview with the Love Collective team. This is where we get to know you beyond the form. What you’re looking for. Your history. Your values. What compatibility actually looks like for you. Our matching is built on this conversation.
Step 5: Decision
After screening and the interview, we decide. Approve or decline. If we decline, we’ll tell you directly. The $97 fee isn’t refunded at this point, because it has already paid for the background check and your assessment.
Step 6: Membership Begins
If you’re approved, you choose your membership. Intro is $1,999 with a six-month minimum term. Executive is $7,999 per year for a twelve-month term. The $97 you already paid is credited in full.

Every membership runs for a set term. Six months for Intro. Twelve months for Executive. You know the length of your commitment before you start.
The Month-Three Check-In
If nothing has landed by month three, we sit down with you and change the approach. We might revisit your brief. We might adjust what we’re looking for, or how we’re looking for it. This isn’t a courtesy call. It’s a scheduled part of the process.
Confidentiality by Design
There are no public member profiles. There’s no searchable database. Nothing about you as a member is visible to anyone outside the matchmaking process. That’s how Love Collective was built from the start, not a policy added later.
Compatibility, availability and mutual interest decide each introduction, so no one can promise a specific outcome. What we commit to is the process behind it: a defined term, a month-three review if things stall, and confidentiality throughout.

We tell you directly, and the $97 screening fee isn’t refunded. It has already paid for the background check and the interview and assessment time, so it isn’t held for a future application.
Is the $97 refundable?
Not on its own. But it isn’t lost if you’re approved. It’s credited in full against your Intro or Executive membership.
How many introductions will I get?
The number isn’t fixed or promised in advance. Compatibility, availability and mutual interest decide each introduction. What we do commit to is the process: screening, an interview, a defined membership term, and a month-three review if nothing has landed yet.
Is my information confidential?
Yes. Love Collective has no public member profiles and no searchable database. Nothing about you is visible to anyone outside the matchmaking process.
Does Love Collective work outside Manitoba and Saskatchewan?
No. Love Collective’s matchmaking is in person and limited to Manitoba and Saskatchewan. Applicants outside those provinces aren’t currently eligible for a matchmaking membership.
